Have to disagree. I'm a paying reader and a booster. Never have thought of myself as being elite in any way, shape or form. Just trying to find good quality stories that a wider audience will enjoy. The lottery analogy makes zero sense. With as many boosters who are now in the program, those who are writing quality content will sooner or later be found.
