I often have to read bad writing because it's my job as an editor, lol. I try to give everything a good honest read, even if we have to reject it. Less often I do though because I genuinely love what a writer has to say even if they don't have the best writing. But you're right. It's good to read both good and bad stuff. Sometimes when I read the bad stuff I'm like, wait do I do that? It can teach us what not to do as well.
