I suppose there is a difference between ‘associated with’ and ‘originated from’… for instance, French fries are considered a very American staple but they did not originate in America. And nothing is considered more English than English tea… but tea didn’t originate in England either. Adopted culture can be cool, too. 🙂
Still it’s always good to get history right also. The Braveheart reference is rather laughable.
