While I love shopping for locally sourced food items in small quaint neighborhood markets, I’m still not above stepping foot into a Walmart. Maundering through the other day I took a spin down the frozen food aisle and then and there something stopped me dead in my tracks… the likeness of Gordon Ramsay multiplied eight or ten times… right there on an array of pre-packaged frozen dinner boxes.

Whaaa? Gordon Ramsay is selling frozen food at Walmart for $5.94 a pop? What is the world coming to?

Turns out the line has been out since the latter part of last year, but since I was in Trinidad and Tobago then, and traveling in the months since, I just must have missed this little nugget of odd fascination.

Michelin star Chef Gordon Ramsay is, of course, well known for his outspoken criticism of food that is not cooked up just right and has often been critical of frozen food. I’m often critical of frozen food as well, fresh is just so much better…
