My phone will prompt me for a pin if my primary unlocking method won't work. The phone I use now has face recognition, which works most of the time unless lighting is a problem.

Still, like you I'm trying to get into the habit of just printing off hard copies of all of my stuff whenever possible. I've gotten to the check point and then suddenly I don't have WIFI or I have forgotten to download something to my photos/documents or whatever. Then everyone just looks at me like I'm being the problem child of the day. 😆
