Sad to read this story. I was raised in a religious cult, too. It really messes people up and makes people feel shame, embarrassment and fear for just about everything they do. That's how they whittle people down and get them to conform.

Sad to hear of the abuse you had to endure as well. Just adds another layer onto everything else. Hopefully you are in a better place now. It's tough getting there for sure.
