I can't even imagine what life was like for a lot of those women in previous generations who felt they had to stay suck in bad marriages and couldn't be free to travel or do more or less what they wanted. Luckily a few were able to break out and be free but it seemed pretty rare. Thanks for pointing this out too as it makes me so thankfully to be living in a time when things are much easier and more acceptable.
